Public Safety

Keeping our citizens safe is one of my highest priorities.
I am sure that it comes as no surprise that the issue of Public Safety is one that I find incredibly important.
As Bonney Lake grows, we are losing some of that small town feel, but that doesn’t mean our area has to give itself over to crime.
It is my duty to make sure that our Police and Fire Departments have what they need to do their jobs effectively, and if we can find grants to pay for those things – even better!
One of my passions is fixing Allan Yorke Park. When I started working as a police officer in Bonney Lake in 2004, I could all ready see that the way the park was set up was not going to work as our population increased. This is a project that I am passionate about and will continue to work on.
After the Sumner Grade Fire, some small things were brought up in the debrief that we could do better if we were to ever have another large scale emergency event. Learning from this event is crucial and providing the equipment and plans to handle such an event will be done. I also firmly believe that we should employ an Emergency Management Coordinator and will work to add that position to the budget.
Even though I am no longer an officer here, I am still a law enforcement officer and well versed in the law. I will continue to use my knowledge to help our city be a place people want to live and keep our citizens safe.
